With the end of January comes the (probable) end to the new year resolutions. There always seems to be some new, cool, sexy, quick-and-easy detox out there with juice cleanses being a big thing (and a huge money maker for some companies). Here’s a quick and easy read on a dietitian’s perspective on the juice cleanse published in the Globe and Mail. Not only do juice cleanses make you a total grumpy-pants since your body is craving actual food, but there’s no evidence to support the fad diet either. This RD also lists some easy ways to lose weight and support healthy eating, including eating small meals and NOT cutting out food groups (eat dem carbs).
