Trina Pawliw, Registered Clinical Dietitian

I have spent the majority of my career in the fast-paced world of general medicine and surgical hospital units, helping patients recover from acute illnesses and operations. Most recently, my work took me deep into home infusion care, where I specialized in supporting enteral nutrition (tube feeding) patients as they transitioned from hospital to home. I completed my Certified Nutrition Support Certificate (CNSC) in 2024. Working in home infusion made me realize just how vital it is to strip away the clinical sterility of nutrition support and bring the focus back to real-life enjoyment, real food, and patient-centered care. I am absolutely thrilled to bring this unique blend of clinical expertise and supportive, practical care to our clients!

In my practice, my areas of focus and expertise include:

  • Digestive Health (Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)): Crohn’s disease / Ulcerative colitis, gastrointestinal nutrition concerns (diarrhea, constipation, food intolerances), and other complex gastrointestinal disorders
  • General Nutrition, Wellness & Chronic Disease Prevention: Tailoring realistic dietary strategies for nutrient deficiencies, simple meal planning, chronic disease prevention.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Evidence-based, compassionate care for type 2 diabetes, and heart health (e.g. lowering cholesterol, managing blood pressure)
  • Surgical Rehabilitation (Pre & Post-Op): Optimizing nutrition before and after major interventions, including colostomy, ileostomy, bowel obstruction, gallbladder removal (Cholecystectomy) or gallstones, Whipple, stomach / gastric resection, esophagectomy, hiatus hernia repair, Heller myotomy, and much more.
  • Practical Culinary Care: Transforming strict clinical targets into delicious, approachable meals you actually look forward to eating.
  • Home Enteral Nutrition & Nutrition Support: Navigating tube feeds, formulas, and blenderized diets with confidence at home, as well as safely transitioning off enteral nutrition back to an oral diet when appropriate.
  • Balanced/healthful eating, sustainable weight management and building positive relationships with food

My approach to nutrition:

I believe that major health and lifestyle transitions do not have to mean losing your joy for food. With deep clinical roots, my approach bridges complex medical nutrition therapy with practical, real-world living. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, or navigating specialized nutrition support, I work collaboratively with you to build a safe, sustainable, and stress-free path forward that treats food as a source of comfort and vitality rather than anxiety.

When I’m off the clock, you can usually find me adventuring with my family, hitting the trails in Squamish for a refreshing run, or cozying up with a good book to unwind.
